Ramblings of a Southern Girl

I was going through my jewelry box the other day, and I was that I always used to like wearing watches better than my other jewelry, but since I have been married I have become so used to my rings. I guess this is because I don’t take them off. Necklaces, watches, and bracelets are removed daily, which often makes me forget to put them back on the next day. Maybe I should start asking for more rings to wear (I’ve had my eye on a couple of titanium rings anyways…though they are a bit on the expensive side) so I will actually wear them and they won’t sit in my jewelry box day after day…

Wow, I didn’t realize there are so many different things for babies to sleep in out there. I mean, I know there are baby bassinets, cribs, and beds, but I am talking about the variations between those three things. And it doesn’t just stop with bedding…there are tons of strollers, car seats, and everything else on the market as well. *Sigh* I am never going to be able to make up my mind when it comes time to go shopping for those things!

I know I’ve said this before, but we need a new Internet company…We currently have ours through the phone company, but they still live in the dark ages when a telephone line was required to have Internet service. I’d soon just not have a landline since it rings ALL DAY LONG! We always let it go to the answering machine, and 90% of the time it’s an annoying telemarketer…We are thinking about trying a satellite internet provider, but nothing’s set in stone yet…

Mom and I haven’t been out to the yard sales lately. We still have tons of stuff to sell on Ebay, but I am hoping to find some cute baby clothes that still have tags on them. Some new moms get so many outfits that the baby doesn’t get to wear them all before he/she outgrows them. Baby clothes sell on ebay very well…Guess lots of people purchase baby gifts from there!

I’ve been selling on Ebay for a while now, and I must admit…people will sell anything on there!! From corn flakes to golf equipment, you can find anything on that site. There are so many things on there that I wouldn’t even think about listing that ends up selling for $100’s! It’s crazy…I don’t need state-shaped corn flakes, but I could use some women’s golf equipment. James talks about wanting to golf every once in a while…I used to have my own clubs, but not in a while…

Do you think titanium rings are more, less, or equally popular than gold? In my opinion, they are more popular. Around here, there aren’t many men who go for yellow gold wedding rings. Some still opt for white gold, but I know of quite a few whose choice of metal is titanium. It’s not wonder…those things are indestructible!

Wow, Father’s Day is almost here…seems like Mother’s Day was yesterday! I do not have a clue what to get my step-dad. I was reading an article earlier about gift ideas, and apparently rings are a hot item to buy fathers. My step-dad doesn’t wear rings, including mens wedding bands, so that’s out of the question. It will probably be something fishing related, since that’s what he eats, sleeps, and lives.

I find myself looking this often, even though I have no baby to buy for! I really like this website’s nice selection of crib bedding, and I have bookmarked it for future reference…Let’s just hope it’s still around by the time I get pregnant! :/

Seeing their name on their shirt makes them feel big!

I was thinking about baby showers the other day, and how at most of them I have been to, all the soon to be moms get large quantities of the same things…diapers, wipes, outfits, towels, etc. I think I am going to start buying less popular baby gifts, because sometimes new parents don’t get things they need, even if they place them on their registries! I am going to start looking for baby bedding, highchair, or a crib…you know, the higher priced things on the list. If I get a couple of people to go in with me and buy things like this, it wouldn’t cost much more than a couple of outfits and a pack of diapers!
