Speaking of my friend who is in the hospital (see previous post), I have been visiting her a lot this week, and we have been doing a lot of catching up. We went to middle and high school together, and have only saw each other a few times since graduation. We try to stay in touch over MySpace, but that hasn't worked really well. She's been filling me in on everyone that's been getting married and having babies. She has been able to pass on some of her baby furniture because of this. It seems that most of the people I graduated with are mommies and daddies now!
One of my friends has been in the hospital for a week now with a blood clot in her right lung. Well, the clot has passed, but now she's sitting in there because she was on blood thinners to break up the clot, and now they are having to raise her clotting levels in her blood back up to 2-3. It's been hovering between 1 and 2 all week. Hopefully she will get to go home later today. We have a shopping trip scheduled for tomorrow to go get her youngest some baby clothes for winter. He's too small to wear his older brother's things from when he was a year old. I cannot wait to go, as I LOVE shopping for baby clothes!
James came today to tell me again (for the 100th time) that he wants to get into golfing. He said some of his co-workers were discussing the sport today while one of them was sporting one of his golf hats. I would really like to get back into golf as well, as my grandfather taught me how to play when I was younger. I actually played for my middle school. Although I wasn't too good, back then it didn't matter. There weren't many golfers on the team, so they were glad to have the players that they did.
Wow, I have not blogged here in a while! Actually, I had totally forgot about the blog for a while...Bad me!
I was sitting in the doctor’s office yesterday awaiting my grandmother’s appointment when I started getting a headache.
I don’t know if it was because of their bright commerical lighting
or the fact that it was 3pm I hadn’t eaten all day (maybe a combo of
the two), but I rarely get headaches. When I do, I want nothing more
than to lay in bed and sleep until the pain goes away. The way I see
it, if I can get to sleep, I won’t know I’m hurting!
Sheesh! Shopping for babies can become exhausting. Just thinking about all the things new parents need makes my head hurt. Plus, thinking about all the time spent walking down aisles upon aisles at various stores makes my feet hurt. I think, when the time comes, I will try to do the majority of my shopping online. No lines or crowds, and I wouldn’t have to worry about how I’m going to lug the heavy baby furniture home when it’s coming straight to my door
I see online advertisements all the time promoting tungsten rings. What exactly is tungsten?? Is it the style of the ring, or the metal used to construct it? When James and I were shopping through all the mens wedding bands available, we didn’t come across anything other than titanium and gold (white and yellow). None of the jewelry stores we shopped at offered tungsten rings…at least they didn’t promote them as such! I should probably go google this to find the answer to my questions.
If you are in the market for some adorable baby bedding sets, you need to check BabyBox.com . I personally like the safari set featured in yellow. The little monkeys are so cute, and yellow is a great color if you do not find out the baby's gender before he/she is born. This website has some of the cutest crib bedding I’ve ever seen…I have so many favorite sets on there! I wouldn’t know which set to actually purchase if I was pregnant.
Some thing is wrong with my spam filters for my email. Back when I first set up my email accounts in my cPanel, I rarely received spam. For some reason, they decided to stop working not long after that. Now I receive about 80 junk emails from the time I go to bed until I wake up, and there are for all kinds of things…medications, making money online, drinks, mens wedding bands…The list goes on and on! If just one of those emails could be useful to me, I may change my mind about hating spam. However, I need none of the wonder drugs. I already make money online. I don’t want to try any of the power drinks. James and I are already married so I don’t need to do any shopping for mens wedding bands.
If you are expecting soon (or perhaps throwing a shower for someone who is), you should really check out MamaBebe.com. They have the cutest personalized baby gifts that are also suitable for toddlers. I personally like the puzzle stool…It would make such a nice 2nd or 3rd birthday present. The site also offers a wide selection of baby shower favors at an affordable price.
