Our guest bathroom is in major need of redecoration. The wallpaper is just blah, and the counter top is a marble-like weird look of green swirls. I wish we could just gut the entire room and start over. James and I have been looking at new faucets, sinks, and counter tops for a while now, but nothing has caught our eye. I personally like the Moen faucets. They are so sleek and stylish, and would make our bathroom more sophisticated. Unfortunately, though, until we find the perfect sink and counter to go with it, we are stuck with the green swirls!
Since our garage is currently being used as a store-all, we desperately need to get around to organizing it. There are tons of things I would like to get rid of, but there are other things that were be permanently stored out there, such as paint supplies and lawn tools. It would be a good idea to get all my cleaning supplies out from under the kitchen sink as put them in the garage as well. I think once we get around to cleaning, we will be purchasing garage storage cabinets, so we can neatly have all of our stuff in there, and still be able to park in there!
Since we moved into our home in April, we have yet to be able to park our vehicles in the garage. We still have our old living room suite, dinette set, and tons of boxes of miscellaneous junk that we couldn't sell at our yard sale stashed in there. I am very thankful for garage storage, because without it, I have no clue where all this stuff would go. I will be so happy when we actually take the time to get rid of the stuff we don't want, and maybe get some shelves or a metal cabinet for the rest of the items. That's just another one of those "home to-do's" that is on our seemingly neverending list!!
Since our house was already ten years old when we purchased it, improvements are needing to be done. We currently have a seemingly endless " To Do" list of projects, such as painting, redoing the floors, cleaning the pool. We sometimes browse online to find project ideas to use for our home. We have few neat things to do, but some require that we add on to the house. Conservatories are just the thing for outdoor parties, especially during the warm summer months. They provide the pleasure of being outside, without the temperature. There are so many different styles...it would be hard to choose just one!! That would have to come in the distant future, as right now we are focusing on less extravagant home improvements!!
When my fiance and I were looking for a house, we dealt with a couple different people who worked at different real estate agencies. The one who ended up selling the house almost lost our business after he refused to present an offer we had made of a house that was listed under his name because he "thought it was too low." At that point, we decided if we continued to use him, we would not purchase anything he was directly selling, so he had no one to favor but us (since he would be getting a nice chunk of money out of the deal.)
We ended with a relatively good buying experience, but I would have preferred better buyer representation. It would have been nice have known about Territory Real Estate back then. They offer total buyer representation for one flat fee. Agents make a percentage of what the house sells for, so they will often push buyers to the higher end of their budget, to get the most commission. Territory charges you the same thing, whether you buy a $100,000 or a $400,000 home. That decrease in pressure alone would have made our buying experience more worthwhile.
Thought I’d write a lil something before I went to bed, so here goes….
I still have not received my Wii game. I am getting a lil irritated, especially since the seller didn’t respond to my email I sent on June 15th. I sent her a 2nd email today, pretty much saying the same thing as the first, though I emphasized that this was my 2nd time trying to contact her and I would really like to know where my game is. Maybe I’ll hear something tomorrow. If not, I’m, thinking about contacting ebay.
My mom came by the house today and brought the curtains and throw pillows my aunt made for our bedroom. She used a shower curtain identical to the one in our master bath to make the toppers for our bedroom windows, and used the what she had left over for pillows for our bed. She also made the toppers for the living room & dining area. They all look really good! My aunt is so creative. I really think she needs to go into interior design or catering, since she enjoys doing that stuff, but she hasn’t yet….
