James came today to tell me again (for the 100th time) that he wants to get into golfing. He said some of his co-workers were discussing the sport today while one of them was sporting one of his golf hats. I would really like to get back into golf as well, as my grandfather taught me how to play when I was younger. I actually played for my middle school. Although I wasn't too good, back then it didn't matter. There weren't many golfers on the team, so they were glad to have the players that they did.
Does your hubby wear his wedding ring?? I saw an ad for mens wedding bands earlier, and I was thinking that a lot more married men go without their ring than married women do. James wears his everyday (it never comes off his finger), but my step-dad doesn’t wear his, and probably hasn’t since his and my mom’s wedding day. I know that some men don’t wear them to work if they do construction or auto mechanics, but I would personally be offended if my husband never wore his ring. It’s a symbol of faithfulness and love…why wouldn’t you want to wear it??
Since James and I have been going to the gym, we have had to buy some comfortable, athletic clothes. We went to a sporting goods store the other day, and they had some Michael Jordan clothing that I think would have suited James, but he didn't like it...Sometimes I think he is just too plain! :) He just wanted plain t-shirts and gym shorts. I couldn't even talk him into a jersey, though he does like basketball!
Since James is losing weight, he is soon going to need some new clothes. He has a closet full already, but I guess he will have to get rid of some of the looser fitting things once he gets down to the size he wants to be. We'll probably go get him some new jeans and khakis for work, as well as some golf shirts. He doesn't golf, but they are dressy, so he can wear them to work.
Remember that ring I said I wanted?? Well, I got it today! James placed it on my finger this morning while I was still asleep, so I woke up to what I thought was something wrapped around my finger. Still half asleep, I tried to pull it off, then realized it was a ring! I am so excited...I love it! I wish James would wear more jewelry...I have been looking at some tungsten rings online. I just don't know if he would wear anything other than his wedding band, since the man doesn't even wear a watch!
I am so ready to have a child. We went and picked up my little 4 year old cousin, Jake, on Friday afternoon, and kept him over the weekend. Friday night, we took him to a high school football game, and he had a blast. He loved to clap every time everyone else did (and even sometimes when they weren't!) and would start dancing when the bands played. He got a little souvenir football that the cheerleaders were throwing in the stands, and when we got him home, all he wanted to do was throw that ball with James. It was so cute to see James playing with him! He's going to make such a good daddy!!
Yesterday we went and did some wedding shopping, and we were in Michael's (craft store), and James was pushing the buggy that Jake was riding in. James thought he would take Jake over to see the Halloween blow up things that the store had on display. My mom, sister, and I were on the ribbon aisle, and we hear this scream...sounded like a child was being beat or something. We rush over, and of course, it was Jake, who is apparently terrified of scary looking things. I kinda snapped at James, cause I knew better than to take a small child (well, this particular small child) over to that certain section. He hasn't been around children much, so he has a lot to learn...
Today, we went to church, and Jake stayed amazingly quiet through the service. He's not that talkative most of the time anyways, but we didn't know how he would act, since he doesn't attend church. During our welcoming, where we all get up and shake hands/hug, he wanted to hug everyone! If someone stuck their hand out for him to shake, he'd just throw up both arms, expecting them to pick him up!!
He's going back home today. Mom was going to take him back to the pool for a couple of hours before taking him home. He loves to swim. We had him in the pool at 10pm last night, and he begged to stay in when everyone else got out because the water was freezing!! It's been fun to have a little kid around this weekend. I can't want for me and James to have one of our own!!
