What indulgence always makes your grocery list?
Ice cream!!! Although, since we are doing the whole eating better, losing weight thing, it has switched from a regular gallon of Mayfield's to either Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches or WW Ice Cream Bars. Both are just as yummy as what we used to eat....and TONS better for us!
How often do you call your parents?
I don't call mine too often, maybe 2-3 times a week. My mom calls me almost every day though, we talk all the time. She can always think of daily questions for me!
If you had a time machine, which year would you travel to and why?
Submitted by Michelle.
Can I go forwards or backwards? If forward, maybe just a few years...Maybe 4-5...Just to see what I would be doing then. Maybe I could learn about the latest products/cures/trends, and bring them back to the present. That would be pretty cool.
If I could go backwards, I'd go back to about 3 years ago, and finish college...the FIRST time around. But then my life would be considerably different, so I don't think I'd really want to change the past...
When do you start your holiday shopping?
Though I tell myself every year I am going to have it done by December, I usually start around the middle of November. Black Friday (when I don't have to work) is usually my most productive Christmas shopping day. I am one of those early bird shoppers while will drag themselves out of bed at 4am, just to get a free gift and discounts!!!
For a full sit-down dinner with several guests, would you rather be the one cooking or do you prefer to just show up and eat?
I had much rather be the one to just show up & eat!! I do that most of the time now. Cooking just isn't an enjoyment of mine, and I don't understand why so many people love to slave over a hot stove for hours just for one meal...
Which TV show never "jumped the shark"?
Submitted by healthypanda.
The one that comes to mind is Friends. This show lasted 10 years, and it basically the same throughout. No one moved away, had kids, or drastically changed. A few new characters would join the 6 friends from time to time, but it was basically just the original 6 though the entire series.
What is your favorite dish on the Thanksgiving table?
Submitted by Kadeeae.
Oh my gosh, I have to pick just one!!! How about by table? On the main course table, it would probably be the turkey. My family gets a huge turkey, cooks it, then cuts off all the meat into pieces. It goes great with the stuffing...and the green beans...and the, you get the idea!
On the dessert table, my favorite thing would be the pecan pie. My aunt makes some of the best homemade pecan pie, and it's one of those desserts I don't eat a lot of throughout the year, which makes it better when I get it on holidays!
What's been your worst experience at a restaurant?
The worst experience I have ever had didn't involve me directly, but I was there, so it was pretty bad. The guy I dated in high school and I went to a local Chinese restaurant one day after school. It was a buffet style restaurant, and we had helped ourselves to the different bars. I had gotten some of the rice with veggies and probably chicken (this happened about 5-6 years ago, so I don't exactly remember), and he got a plate full of lo mein noodles. We sat down, and started eating and talking.
About 5 minutes into this, he takes a bite of his food, then immediately spits it back out on his plate. Out of his mouth came a cockroach, and it was laying in the middle of his plate on its back, legs frantically moving in hopes of turning itself over. I was freaked out, and he was completely angry! He jumps up, says we are getting out of there, and walks over and talks loudly to the chinese guy. I am kinda glad he was so loud, so others could know what was going on. Of course, they were apologizing and telling us our meal was free (though he had already told them in a not so nice tone that we wouldn't be paying). We walked out, and never went back to that place, even after it had gotten a new name and new management.
Film & TV writers are on strike, which means everything except reality TV could halt production. Do you support the strike? Are any of your favorite shows in jeopardy?
If they think they are underpaid, then I guess I support it. I don't know too much about the whole issue, but I do kinda think that striking is a form of whining, but I would do it too if I didn't think I was getting adequately paid for my talents.
As far as my favorite shows, I don't know if they are in trouble or not...I need to look that up, cause I'll be sad if I have to start watching reruns!!
How are you celebrating Halloween today?
I celebrated Halloween by sitting at home, and giving out candy to the trick or treaters. We have about 20-25 children come by, but we were left with so much junk!!
